TRADING STATEMENT                                                               
Shareholders are advised that Spur`s headline earnings and earnings for the six 
months ended 31 December 2004 are expected to be between 25% and 35% higher than
the previous comparable period, being the six months ended 31 December 2003, due
to continued favourable trading conditions.                                     
The financial information on which this trading statement is based has not been 
reviewed or reported on by the company`s auditors.  The interim results are     
expected to be published on or about 3 March 2005.
