RESULT OF GENERAL MEETING                                                       
The directors of Spur announce that, at the general meeting of shareholders held
on Friday, 25 October 2002, the requisite majority passed the ordinary          
resolution, authorising the reduction of the share premium account from R233 393
529 to R223 142 082 by an amount of R10 251 447 as a capital distribution to    
shareholders in lieu of dividends, representing 10,5 cents per share ("the      
distribution").                                                                 
Salient dates for the distribution                                              
The last date to trade in the company`s shares for purposes of entitlement to   
the distribution is Friday, 1 November 2002.  The shares will commence trading  
ex-distribution on Monday, 4 November 2002 and the record date is Friday, 8     
November 2002.  The distribution will be effected on Monday, 11 November 2002.  
No dematerialisation or rematerialisation orders will be processed between      
Monday, 4 November 2002 and Friday, 8 November 2002, both days inclusive.
