RESULT OF GENERAL MEETING
The directors of Spur announce that at the general meeting of shareholders
held on Wednesday, 26 September 2001, the requisite majority passed the
ordinary resolution authorising the reduction of the share premium account
from R243 993 688 to R236 269 353 by an amount of R7 724 335 as a capital
distribution to shareholders in lieu of dividends ("the distribution").
Salient dates for the distribution
The last date to trade in the company's shares for purposes of entitlement
to the distribution is Friday, 28 September 2001.  The shares will commence
trading ex-distribution on Monday, 1 October 2001 and the record date is
Friday, 5 October 2001.  The distribution will be paid on Monday, 8 October
2001.
