M-Cell decides to wait regarding SNO

M-Cell has yet to decide whether it will bid for the second network operator (SNO) license, saying it will wait until the invitation to apply is published before making its final decision. M-Cell's CE, Paul Edwards, said the company's primary investment focus was on the enormous opportunity presented by its recently launched Nigerian operations. He said more than R10bn had been set aside for the development of the market, which had secured the company's future growth. With double the projected number of users signed up, it had justified the USD285m paid for the license. Edwards said the market could be big, if not bigger than SA's.
