| MTN - appointment of joint equity sponsors

Shareholders were advised that JP Morgan Equities South Africa (Pty) Ltd. ("J.P. Morgan") and Tamela Holdings (Pty) Ltd. ("Tamela") have been appointed as Joint JSE Equity Sponsors to MTN with effect from 01 December 2018. J.P. Morgan will act as lead JSE Equity Sponsor to MTN for the first 12 months of its appointment and Tamela will alternate as lead JSE Equity Sponsor for the next 12 months.
