M-Cell group, MTN, launches upliftment foundation

MTN has created a new body to house its R40m social development projects, and promised to take to take technology and science education to a broader base of people. The MTN Foundation will streamline more than 40 projects supported by MTN and group them under 4 areas: education, science, technology, arts and culture, and rural development. Phuthuma Nhleko, chairman of M-Cell, said MTN had made a R10bn commitment to expansion in the next 3 years. The process would see it provide cellular services to millions of people across the continent.
