CHANGE TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS                                                
In compliance with the JSE Limited Listings Requirements, shareholders are      
advised that Professor Wiseman Nkuhlu has been appointed as a non-executive     
director to the board of Datatec with effect from 1 September 2006. Nkuhlu will 
also serve as a member of the audit, compliance and risk committee.             
Nkuhlu, who was trained as a chartered accountant and who served articles with  
PriceWaterHouse Coopers, currently serves as chairman of Pan-African Capital    
Holdings (Pty) Ltd and holds directorships with Kagiso Trust Investments, Virgin
Active South Africa, Old Mutual SA Ltd and Old Mutual PLC, London. Between      
October 2000 and July 2005 he served as economic advisor to President Thabo     
Mbeki and Chief Executive of the Secretariat of new Partnership for Africa"s    
development NEPAD.
