EARNINGS UPDATE FOR THE FINANCIAL YEAR ENDED 28 FEBRUARY 2006                   
Datatec is currently finalising its results for the financial year ended 28     
February 2006 ("the Year"), which are expected to be released on Tuesday, 16 May
2006.                                                                           
In this regard, shareholders are advised that headline earnings are expected to 
be between 24 and 26 US cents per share for the Year, compared to headline      
earnings of 4 US cents per share for the financial year ended 28 February 2005. 
Datatec"s overall financial performance improved during the Year on both a      
sequential and comparative basis to previously reported full year and half year 
results. Trading in all divisions improved.                                     
Attributable earnings are expected to be between 18 and 22 US cents per share   
for the Year, compared to attributable earnings of 38 US cents per share for the
financial year ended 28 February 2005. The results for the financial year ended 
28 February 2005 included exceptional profits realised on the sale by Logicalis 
Group Limited of its Asia Pacific subsidiaries.                                 
The financial information on which this trading statement is based has not been 
reviewed and reported on by the Company"s auditors.
